How much does Lumen cost?
Lumen’s pricing model scales with the amount of data and the number of registered users. This allows your agency to get started at a lower cost and scale as needs and budgets evolve. The subscription fee is all-inclusive and covers maintenance, support, and training. If your agency shares information systems with another agency, we are happy to share costs across all participating agencies. Contact us for a custom quote!
How secure is Lumen?
Lumen utilizes FBI-approved encryption for storage and transmission of all data, advanced multi-factor authentication that complies with the latest CJIS security policy, and comprehensive physical and logical security to prevent unauthorized access. You have complete control over who has access to your data, and you retain complete ownership of your data – we will never share, sell, or keep a copy of your data for use outside of Lumen. All Numerica employees with access to Lumen have been fingerprinted, background checked, and trained by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

What are the I.T. requirements?
Lumen is offered as a cloud-based or server-based solution, but is designed to require very few resources from your agency’s I.T. department. Our engineers can configure Lumen to interface with virtually any RMS or other data source.
Lumen requires Internet Explorer 10 or higher, Google Chrome version 34 or higher, Safari on IOS 6 or higher, or Mozilla Firefox version 25 or higher.

How long does it take to get up and running with Lumen?
We can get you up and running in a matter of days. Lumen’s lightweight configuration process, together with our highly-trained deployment team, mean that the installation and configuration process is quick and painless.
What kind of support will I get?
The Lumen subscription includes maintenance, software updates, as well as phone and email support. In addition to our general support, you will always have a dedicated Customer Success Manager you can rely on to ensure you achieve your desired objectives and receive the greatest possible value. Is there a mobile version?
Yes, Lumen Mobile runs on any smart phone or tablet. With Mobile, you can quickly and easily find information about people (including known associates), vehicles, incidents, and locations from anywhere your phone has an internet connection. As a browser-based platform, users can also access the full Desktop version in addition to Mobile while away from their desks.
What kinds of data can Lumen handle?
Lumen is extremely flexible and can index just about anything stored electronically. Our engineers configure the data import process to allow you to get maximum value from your data. Lumen supports the following data sources (please inquire about other data sources):
- Jail records management system (JMS)
- Fire records management system
- Intelligence databases
- Legacy RMS/CAD data. You can save hundreds of thousands of dollars on migration costs when switching an RMS.
- File archives including Word, PDF, Excel, Powerpoint, RTF, and HTML. Lumen will even search inside these documents.
- Images including mugshots and crime scene photos
- Email archives (.pst format)
- Any data stored in MS SQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, MySQL, Postgres, or other electronic database
How does data sharing in Lumen work?
Our standard subscription agreement includes an optional data sharing agreement. Any agency that signs this agreement can share their own data with other agencies through Lumen, and also access data from agencies that are sharing data through Lumen. As the Lumen network grows, you will have access to any agency that signs on to the network in the future.
Sensitive or secure records can be excluded from sharing, or even excluded from Lumen entirely. Our deployment team will work closely with your staff to ensure that the correct criteria are used. Click here to download our Application Security Model paper for details.
How can I save $100k+ when upgrading my RMS?
Many agencies are faced with a dilemma when changing to a new RMS: what should they do with the data in their old RMS?
