Although Pasadena might be best known for the Tournament of Roses Parade and the Rose Bowl national championship football game, this vibrant city boasts celebrated museums, 16 historic districts, fine dining, performing arts, shopping, recreation and world-class opportunities for higher learning.
Pasadena is home to scientists and students at the California Institute of Technology, Caltech’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and the Palomar and Keck Observatories. Fuller Theological Seminary, Art Center College of Design, and the California School of Culinary Arts are also located in Greater Pasadena, just 11 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains.
The word Pasadena means “valley” in the Ojibwa (Chippewa) Native American language, and this city has rightfully earned the interpretation “crown of the valley.” Pasadena enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate where naturalized parrots are often seen flying against the backdrop of blue skies and palm trees, and the Pacific Ocean is only 30 miles away.
Numerica’s California office has stunning views of downtown Los Angeles, Mt. Wilson and Mt. Baldy, and is situated between Caltech’s main campus and Old Pasadena, just one block south of historic Colorado Boulevard in the heart of Pasadena’s thriving South Lake Avenue District.
“At Numerica, I am surrounded by a select group of dynamic, passionate and talented people. I love being at work every day, formulating mathematical problems and developing complex algorithms. And now I can do all that in Pasadena, California? It is a dream come true!”
