The Numerica Timeline

1988

CSU’s Aubrey B. Poore, Ph.D., is given one of the hardest distributed tracking problems in modern history and begins research that will result in the MFA tracker technology solution.

1996

The MFA tracker wins “Best-of-Breed Tracking System” award in Air Force competition at Hanscom Air
Force Base.

Numerica is incorporated.

1999

Numerica obtains exclusive rights from CSURF to commercialize the MFA tracker.

Numerica wins its first contract with U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR).

The MFA tracker is licensed to Northrop Grumman for ground target tracking.

2002

Numerica wins its first Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) contract.

Numerica is invited to participate in the U.S. Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA’s) Project Hercules.

2003

Numerica’s core MFA tracking system technology is licensed to Spectrum Astro (now General Dynamics C4 Systems).

Numerica adapts its tracking system for use in the SBIRS-Low program while on the Spectrum Astro-led team.

2004

Aubrey B. Poore, Ph.D. wins Colorado State University Research Foundation’s “Researcher of the Year” award.

Numerica joins the Lockheed Martin-led National Team to develop next-generation tracker and situation assessment for the MDA’s primary command and control system (C2BMC).

2006

The U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) engages Numerica to begin developing a new tracking system capability to handle the ever-growing “space catalog.”

2008

Numerica is selected by Northrop Grumman as a Phase I technology partner and track management expert for the Army’s Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS).

Numerica licenses its multi-sensor MFA tracking software to Ultra Electronics – Advanced Tactical Systems for inclusion in its AFTS product.

2009

Numerica successfully demonstrates its Counter Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (CSUAV) capability
at Black Dart V.

Numerica is recognized by Governor Bill Ritter and the Edward Lowe Foundation as a 2009 Colorado Company to Watch.

Jeff Poore receives the 40 Under Forty rising business leader award from Northern Colorado Business Report.

Jeff Poore receives the Loveland Small Business Development Center’s Business Leadership and Vision Award.

2010

Numerica is selected by Northrop Grumman as a Phase II technology partner and track management expert for the Army's Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System (IBCS).

Aubrey B. Poore, Ph.D., wins Bravo Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Northern Colorado Business Report.

Numerica opens a satellite office in Pasadena, California.

Numerica receives the Supplier Excellence Award from Northrop Grumman.

2011

Numerica wins the Small Business Administration’s Tibbetts Award for excellence in the Small Business Innovation Research program.
